This group is for people interested in writing character-driven screenplays with strong narrative values. A screenplay isn't a novel, and it's not a film. It's a tool to get a critical mass of professionals together to make a film. The stronger the story and the more human the characters, the better the screenplay. Classic narrative structure will be encouraged as a respectful basis for script critique, as will analysis of classic and current films and scripts for technique. All genres welcome!

Here's the deal: Every other week, we meet up and randomly pick a "seed" sentence from a newspaper, website, sign, fortune cookie, whatever. Then we write for thirty minutes, using that sentence as the first in the story. After thirty minutes, anyone who is so inclined can read his story out loud and we can discuss. I am interested in starting a project group for homeschooled kids based on the book Project-based Homeschooling by Lori Pickert (she also has a website--http://project-based-homeschooling.com/camp-creek-blog/). We could create as many groups as needed and meet a few times a week. Lori specifically writes about not segregating kids by age so all ages would be great. We can also do playdates and activities outside of project time.

We are a group that is dedicated to making sure contractors in the metroplex write claims the right way! The more contractors in the DFW metroplex that are educated to write estimates the right way, the more insurance companies will have to pay the right way.
