Regardless of members' experience with writing, we're looking to build a strong base of 8-12 regular writers who'd like to develop a support system for their writing work. This is a group that meets to WRITE, to socialize, and to offer encouragement and inspiration to others as we practice our craft. We're focused on the process, not the product. Writing can be a solitary activity...but it doesn't have to be. This is a group where the focus is actually on DOING the work as opposed to critiquing already finished works. I found so many groups on meetup focused on the critique, but none focused on motivating each other to get the writing done. So if you need motivat …

It can be a first line, an object, a picture, a situation. For about 10-15 minutes we write and if we feel like sharing we read our creation aloud. This is not a critique group - only positive feedback is encouraged. We usually fit in 3-4 prompts in an evening. Member ages range from young adults to octagenarians. You do not h …

… Those who are dedicated to the creation of a worthwhile piece of writing, or to the pursuit of publishing, will benefit from this group. However, all members are welcome to share work, for critique. The way in which our group operates is flexible, and may change, based on the will and interests of its members. At our meetings, writers share a piece of their work, and the people at the meeting share their thoughts (in discussion and / or (optionally) writing). The way writing is shared and cr …

I started this group in hopes of replicating my favorite literary group, The Inklings (e.g., C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Williams). After research I found that their Christian writing group helped them to succeed as authors through community, critiques, encouragement, and accountability. I am on a quest to better my writing and find this community. This group is for you if you have made the courageous choice to share your writing with others. It is designed for those who want feedback to …

I'm waiting for enough people to naturally find their way into the group. Once that happens, I'll schedule our first gathering. My venue of choice -- Mercury Cafe in Ukrainian vill …
