Meetup details are available only to members.
We are a small group of writers, each with a unique story or series of stories to tell. Our goal is to meet a couple times a month to inspire, encourage and support one another as we commit to our writing journeys. Ultimately each of us aspires to get published and to keep on writing as long as the muse calls. We are purposely keeping this circle of writers small to maintain the intimacy and integrity of the group - similar to a book club. However, we do have a waiting list for future member …
A workshop designed to cultivate creativity and mindfulness in the process of recovery from grief, trauma, or addiction. We use writing exercises to uncover, discover, and discard old wounds as well as to create positive attitudes, present awareness, and future goals. We also play with fiction and poetry, and use visual arts as inspiration. Group leader has her masters in creative writing.
There is a seemingly endless supply of books on the writing craft, so instead of feeling guilty because I'm working or doing the laundry instead of reading an enlightening book on the craft, I thought I'd set up an actual monthly time and place to fulfill this need and have writers to talk to about the book! We will read everything from books on writing fiction to poetry to screenwriting. Whatever catches our fancy that month. I'd like to find organizers in several areas of the city, then we can …
We are a group of professionals in publishing who can assist writers, authors, and thinkers develop their book ideas and learn how to self-publish their book or e-book. He has edited 100s of books, authored 5, and ghostwritten 10 for professors, consultants, and business executives. He was the Senior Editor for the best-se …

A place for writing professionals to connect, find and give encouragement, support each other's goals and set new ones. Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith said "there's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." Perhaps true. As happy many of us are to 'go it alone,' however, support and camaraderie of others who speak a similar language can't hurt. WPLA caters to novelists, journalists, bloggers, poets and other writers who take their craft and career in writing ser …
Write Club provides an open forum for aspiring screenwriters of all levels to meet and review each others' work, providing honest and thoughtful feedback. We want to support one another as we navigate through the treacherous waters of screenwriting. Our group is currently comprised of members with a wide range of experience, but we are all here to help improve our craft, while helping others do the same. The writers' group generally meets every two weeks on a Sunday afternoon in the Hollywood a …

The Conejo-Simi Valley Writers Group seeks to bond and strengthen its writer-members in their desire to become better writers. We are here to help our members discover how to write at the top of their form, to edit their work to near-perfection, to get published, and to then encourage them to repeat the write-edit-publish formula over and over. This Group is open to both published and unpublished writers whose writing interests might be expressed across a wide range of formats and …

… This MasterMind is meant for aspiring and established scriptwriters who want to focus and achieve professionalism in writing & complete their script for submission in Hollywood (or the UK). Get ready for the Red Carpet - I say "think big" and keep moving forward. Start with low-budget and work up from there, building your resume and writing ability and then soar. This group is created specifically for Creative Writers, who know they have something beautiful, meaningful, or helpful to say, know (or may not know yet) that they are incredibly talented, can make the time for writing, yet somehow, something else seems to always get in the way. We all know how self-defeating procrastination can be, waiting for a better time ("when I have more hours, when I am less rushed, etc.") until the opportunity is lost, but also that procrastination is merely a habit. J …

Welcome! This is writing/critique group dedicated strictly to novelists (sorry, other genres are great but our focus is on novels) serious about becoming professional writers. If you have a finished novel or a work in progress and you'd like to engage in constructive feedback in a non-threatening environment, then this is your group. We're open to all genres of fiction, but I personally would love to have more writer's of women's fiction join as this is my main focus. Whatever genre you …
There are already plenty of writers' groups, but most of them are geared toward hobbyists rather than toward writers who think big (I know because I used to belong to three of them). If you're a self-published author having difficulty selling or promoting your work, or you're a writer who's frustrated by organizers who've told you what you are and aren't allowed to write, or you'd like to write and self-publish but are intimidated by the process, SPACE is for you. My name is Martin, and I've bee …
We are a group of working actors, veteran actors and actors with writing careers who have come together to share our experience, acting craft expertise, professional knowledge and support so that we may all become better at what we love to do and at the business of doing it. By collaborating, we improve our craft on our own schedules without paying for expensive classes. Sharpening the actors tools, we focus on cold reading, audition techniques, on-camera techniques and improvisation. Our member …

This is a weekly writer's group that meets every Wednesday pm somewhere on the East side. The usual writer's group stuff applies: we read & talk scripts, give each other coverage & notes , drink, nosh, laugh, cry, improve our writing chops. Each week, the focus is on one member. Their material (script, outline, character bio, whatever) is emailed out to the group who reads it then brings coverage, notes or any ideas they think will help the writer. This rotates but when it's your turn, if you …
