This is a group for writers. Writing can be a rather isolated experience, so I've set up this group to get people together to share tips and experiences. Representatives of new ways of writing and getting work out there (such as blogging and self-publishing) are welcome. Whether you are a novelist, journalist, non-fiction writer or blogger come along and meet up! Please note. The ethos of the group is collaborative. Please contribute fairly, rather than just trying to sell your own work. Members …

It is time to really connect with our creative side. Be it - writing, music, photography or anything else. I believe creativity is key in these changing times. The profit and target driven mentality of the workplace has largely discouraged creativi …

To many Pagans, their beliefs are more than a religion; they are a way of life, seeking to live in sympathy with nature in today's modern world. Many pagans see themselves as very much a part of nature, not above it. Pagans also advocate self-responsibility; we are responsible for our actions. Due to persecution and misrepresentation it is necessary to define what Pagans are not as well as what they are. Pagans are not sexual deviants, do not worship the devil (are not Satanists), are not evil …
Welcome! (Updated Tuesday 14th May 2013) Hello-ha! Greetings fellow East Lancashirians! Well, it is now a year since I thought, is anyone else thinking what I am thinking, that there seems little of any real substance to do around Blackburn-Darwen, unless your sole interest in clubbing? A year since I thought, does anyone else want to meet up for interesting conversations, whilst doing meaningful activities, and whilst building supportive local networks? So I (Jenny) have set up an informal soc …

Leadership has come to mean many things to many people and there is no all encompassing theory on what makes good leadership. The terms leadership and management are often used interchangeably and although there is a great deal of overlap they are distinct. As leaders and managers we can only do our best in the situations that present themselves to us. This group will enable us to reflect on current research and writing on aspects of leadership in order to enlighten our own personal situations a …

I've been studying sociology since 2002, finally completing my Ph.D in 2012. During that time, I saw a need for more social groups that bring sociologists together, and allow them to talk about their research and network with other like minded individuals. I found the Ph.D journey to be intellectually fulfilling, but at times rather isolating. So, I've decided to set this group up with the aim of allowing students and academics to come together and talk about their work. This group is open to al …
When I moved to New York, Meet up literally saved my social life. Now that I'm back in the UK, all my friends, whilst being brilliant, true friends are super busy with families or too far away from the city. I work on lots of projects (no 9-5!), love my own company, love 'me time' and love being at home in Birmingham but sometimes, a girl just needs to be out with the girls! And that's where you come in.... This is a fun, meet and chat group as there are already plenty of drinking meet ups arou …
